What is dimensional metrology?
Metrology is the science of measurement. Dimensional metrology deals with measuring geometric quantities, such as lengths, angles, form and surface finish, and verifies whether a part meets the tolerances set out in its technical drawing.
Reliable measurements are the foundation of quality control: they make it possible to detect deviations, reduce waste and demonstrate that products comply with the applicable specifications and standards.
