Dimensional inspection machine for abrasive discs

Abrasive discs are used for cutting and polishing. They operate at high rotational speeds, so their dynamic behaviour matters greatly to the process.
Measuring characteristics such as diameter, out-of-roundness and density is critical to manufacturing these components.
The machine assesses the diameter, thickness and weight of the disc and uses them to calculate its density. The disc is fixed to a rotating plate to determine out-of-roundness.
The control and data logging software programs the machine and records the following results in real time:
- Weight
- Thickness
- Diameter
- Out-of-roundness
- Density
